Who will be the first 8 players to qualify for Starleague?
Due to the number of players in the league there are 8 brackets which will decide this week for the Starleague (assuming I have understood the bracket)
Get ready to meet the 12 players vying for these 8 spots.
Details -
Terrans 4
Zergs 5
Protosses 7

Bracket 25
JPHS Formative (ZePalZ) vs Tabouleh (Free Agent)
Whilst Formative has played clearly better StarCraft so far this season the one matchup which has held him back from being truly elite has been his vZ where he has managed only a 5-5 record.
Tabouleh, an overlooked free agent, will hope his highly aggressive harassing style will help him throw off his stronger opponent who often cuts corners scouting in favour of playing a more greedy style.
Formative should win this, but there are avenues toward victory for Tabouleh.
Bracket 26
terranimbaisback (Free Agent) vs Tabilo Quilan (Observers)
Tabilo Quilan will be hoping to continue an impressive qualification campaign in spite of very mixed league form. Luckily for them this match comes whilst they are on a 5 game vT winning streak.
Uselessterran, who changed their name in ironic protest from terranimba during their becoming a free agent, has yet to play against a zerg but will hope to turn heads from prospective teams in what is likely to be their final match this season.
Tabilo Quilan will win this match, it’s just a question of in how many games.
Bracket 27
Checker (Click Clack) vs TEQ Molt (TequilaTime)
Checker has fought his way to the qualifier round by avoiding his bad mirror match up and playing against no zergs. Despite spotty performance in the league he will be hoping his untested TvZ will hold up against a rampant Molt who has come into the game with a 6-1 record against Terran and the 7th best vT ranking.
Expect Molt to advance to the Starleague.
Bracket 28
Feminize (Free Agent) vs 《AST》 Yuki (AST Best Viewers)
After his team dissolved before the start of the season Feminize has committed to his starleague run hoping to find himself a team in what he feels is his last chance to prove himself as a progamer.
Yuki has struggled to break into the AST starting lineup in the league but has put in some impressive wins during his run through the bracket and is considered a more well rounded player but will need to avoid overconfidence. Twice already Feminize has come back from losing the first map to defeat a favoured opponent.
Whilst Yuki is the clear favourite on paper, it’s hard to deny Feminize’s mentality. This match could go either way.
Bracket 29
Lineup (ZEN) vs Farnsworth 🛡️ (Shield)
2 players separated by just 10 Elo points and solid starts to the season enter into the 3rd decider match of the weekend. Farnsworth will want to prove himself forthwith after the hefty price tag that Shield paid to bring him in as a free agent but will need to put in a lot of practice this week.
Lineup is currently sitting on a 7-1 vZ record and is the 2nd highest ranked vZ at the time of publication.
Expect Lineup to play an aggressive macro style with lots of medics and marines in the midgame, where his unit production and skill in attack can make the difference. If Farnsworth holds this off it’s hard to imagine Lineup having the micro and defensive abilities to defend against defiler pushes.
Bracket 30
UMA Kitasan Black (Umas go Brr) vs Skanderbeg (Little Buff Boys)
An interesting clash of PvP styles Kitasan Black uses their scouting and gamesense to take favourable engagements while Skanderbeg takes a very defensive macro style.
Kitasan will be scouting for weaknesses to take strong fights, but if Skanderbeg can squeeze out the extra bases and units they are accustomed to this will be very difficult for Kitasan.
I expect Skanderbeg to win any game that extends to the late game - but in PvP anything is possible.
Bracket 31
Pithless (Free Agent) vs Sanitaria (Raynor Mains)
While many media figures are criticising Pithless as one of the least technically gifted of the remaining players he has managed to win 3 rounds of qualifiers to make it to this round and will likely be thrilled to have matched against Sanitaria - a TvT specialist who has so far looked uncomfortable in his other matchups.
Pithless will be hoping to hold of Sanitaria’s trademark harassing style and overcome him with solid gateway play and constant pressure.
This should be a fun and volatile matchup to enjoy.
Bracket 32
[FAT🫃] mayOnnAisE (Fighting Fatslobs) vs Nearish (The Gummibears)
mayOnnAisE has only 2 aspects to his play. Preparing to attack and attacking. It will be very interesting to see how Nearish is able to defend against the inevitable midgame aggression from his Zerg opponent.
Nearish is very well rounded compared to his opponent and will be hoping that the map pool is not one which rewards short paths and massed ling hydra but will feel confident that his greater experience level will let him outlast mayOnnAisE who has managed to play only 1 league game this season (A loss against a Protoss similar in stature to Nearish).
Overall, Nearish should consider themselves the moderate favourites to advance.

This will decide 8 of the group stage positions - however, the other 24 groups will have to wait until the following weekend for their deciding games in these brutal groups which have already felled many pre-tournament favourites.
