ISL 7 Round of 4
by unknown · 2012-09-28
The Final Four. The Zergs have shown continued dominance, with the top 2, Hide and Birdman, joined by Mafia Zerg, a great player in his own right. To stop the overmind, one man stands to face Zerg tyranny. Ghost, the last remaining Terran, is the only one standing against a ZvZ finals.

* Birdman (84% vZ) vs Mafia Zerg (67.6% vZ)
All Time Series : Birdman 2 - 0 Mafia Zerg
BIRDMAN is just so good. After 2 weeks of beating up FTS players, the Birdjwa faces off against Mafia Zerg . Mafia has been tested in his ZvT (against Setä ) and his ZvP (against Misaya ). This will be his first ZvZ in the knock out rounds, and he's facing an uphill climb. Historically, Birdman has the advantage, having beaten Mafia twice. Not only that, Birdman has already had his ZvZ tested, in what could be called the greatest ZvZ shakuras has witnessed so far, a 5 game slugfest against Kolll . Birdman has also been resting since he defeated Xello , whereas Mafia has not. Mafia does have the stats to be a champion (compare his stat graph with Hide's), but not with a condition disadvantage against the reigning bonjwa, even if it is the Bird's waning days. While Mafia has certainly created a reputation for himself as an S-class player, Birdman will be just too much to handle.
Prediction - Birdman 3 - 1 Mafia Zerg
* Ghost (72.2% vZ) vs Hide (78.4% vT)
All Time Series : Never Played
HidE is an absolute killer. The Butcher has dominated Terrans all through the knock out rounds, from a solid player in tamp3r to the man who eliminated him in Prop 19 ISL, TORRES . Unlike Mafia, Ghost 's TvZ has been tested already, as he soundly beat Echoic 3-0 last week. However, Hide is 21-4 in his last 25 ZvTs, a godly 84% winrate. Amazingly, Ghost's last 25 TvZs have a record of... 21-4! Both players are at the top of their game at the match up. Sadly though, the last Terran is facing off against the best Sespa player, the one with the highest recorded ELO, the one that's just invincible! Everyone in IRC (except GTP T.T) has Hide winning in a sweep. Hide is here to conquer the ISL, and even Ascent says there is only a 1% chance for Ghost to win. I'll put my money on Ascent.
Prediction - Ghost 0 - 3 Hide

Wow, this one was a short one. I will work on making sure the championship preview is worthy of the occasion. Everyone on the IRC was : Rebs, FearlessMango, Ascent, GTP, Whisperkill, and Tosstriss. Until next time, Stay Classy Shakuras.
